I rebuilt the tranny on my BMW 750i Ž89 - a ZF 4HP 24 - a few months back. I also dissassembled the valve body and replaced the gasket etc.
After the rebuild iŽm getting very rough shifts into 3rd gear - and when the trans/engine is cold, then all shifts are a bit rough, but do smooth out after a few minutes running time.
IŽll be rebuilding the engine next month, so IŽll have the trans down at the same time for potential fixes - but I have the gut feeling that this is a valve-body problem.
Does anyone know what could be the cause of this ?
Hi, yes, this could be have many reasons. a mistake after the rebuilt what happen sometimes, the mechanic over torque the valvebody, what causes hard or no shift when could ectr. a defective damper in the valvebody, or the orifice specification wrong, or the clutch plates spec's wrong or a leak between the clutch You get any codes ?
