Message: Hello all, I own an 1992 525i auto which is currently badly in need of a new transmission. My question is: "is the e36 92-94 325i (non vanos) tranny the same as the e34 2.5 non vanos tranny?" Real OEM lists them as the same transmission but with different suffixes(A4S 310R-LF/RW/etc) As far as I know (which is not from an official source) all the e36 inline 6 automatic trannys are the same, but the wiring/plug/computers are different. As far as I am concerned that is because of the above mentioned vanos/non vanos issue. Do any of you guys know for sure whether an e36 tranny will fit an e34 100% Please provide your input It is greatly appreciated Alex
Hi, Yes, both transmissions are 4L30 E the gear radio is a little different, but you don't will recognize a change. You can install this transmission it will work with NO problems Herb
