after turning around in heavy snow there was no longer any forward gear engagement. Reverse still works, just no forward gear(s). No slippage, noise or smell prior to loss of gear(s). Transmission has 79,000 miles, changed filter/fluid to no avail. Fluid had a slight "Burn" smell to it and there was a "normal wear" amount of graphite-type filing material on the magnet in the oil pan itself. I live in a remote area of Alaska and dropping this transmission and kicking it to a rebuild facility is going to be a project. Can the control valve be dyno tested outside of the tranny? Am I missing something from this picture? Is the loss of forward gears and still having reverse indicative of a known problem. I would appreciate any and all advise. thank-you. manfred
