09A Trans temp in VCDS

Hi,

I'm trying to do a fluid change in a 2003 VW Jetta with the 5-speed 09A Tiptronic trans. When I go in to VCDS software and look and the trans measure block I am not able to view the trans temperature. It is errored out "Error Group2 Not Available". If I keep pressing the "Go" it will eventually show the temp for a split second and then error back out.

I have ohmed the temp sensor and it does change in resistance when temperature is warm verses cold so I'm assuming the sensor and wiring is ok but I did have a code 00300 which is saying it can't read the temp. I cleared the code and will recheck after a couple drive cycles. What resistance should I see when ambient temp is around 70 degrees F? Also how else to verify sensor and wiring is ok? The trans seems to shift ok and only reason I have noticed this is because trying to check temp for fluid change. I know the sensor and wiring could be bad but want to make sure before ripping trans out of car to fix. Has anyone seen the VCDS software respond like this before? I swapped the TCM with same model and it still would not read temp all the time.  Thanks in advance!
