I just purchased a 1982 300SD. I've noticed that it shifts hard going into second but gets softer as it shifts into higher gears. Is this normal or is there a problem I should check out?
I would get it checked. It just should be an adjustment, but if you continue to drive like that, you will slowly demage your transmission. Any better shop should be able to help you.
