 I have a 1996 740il BMW with a 5HP 30 auto transmission. I can back up, but no forward gear will move the car up the smallest incline. Do I need the $8,000 transmission the dealer says I need??? Or is this a programming problem???

It seams like your transmission is broken and you need to replaced. But the price is match different
