I have a 01M that has a lock up torque converter. There are no fault codes in the system read with a VAG 1924. I replaced the TCC solenoid and still the torque converter is lock up; TDI stalls when placed in gear D or R with brakes applied. Using the VAG 1924 I compared engine rpm to transmission input rpm and both were identical in all forward gears. The transmission has to be shifted into N to keep the engine from stalling when the vehicle is stopped.
